   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0239 AM CDT THU MAY 28 2009

   VALID 281200Z - 291200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
EARLY MORNING SATELLITE IMAGERY DEPICTS SEVERAL WEAK DISTURBANCES
OVER PARTS OF THE E-CENTRAL CONUS EMBEDDED WITHIN A LARGER SCALE
UPPER TROUGH CENTERED OVER THE MS RIVER VALLEY. THIS FEATURE WILL
GRADUALLY SLIDE EWD TODAY AS THE LARGE SCALE PATTERN OVER THE CONUS
AMPLIFIES WITH UPPER RIDGING OCCURRING OVER THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST
AND A SEASONABLY STRONG SHORTWAVE TROUGH DIGGING SEWD OVER THE UPPER
GREAT LAKES BY THE END OF THE D1 PERIOD.
PRIMARY SURFACE COLD FRONT WILL PUSH EWD OVER THE APPALACHIANS WITH
ANOTHER COLD FRONT MOVING SEWD OVER THE NRN PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST
REGIONS. SOME GUSTY WINDS MAY DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE NRN PLAINS
BUT MARGINALLY LOW RH ALONG WITH GREENUP SUGGEST A LIMITED POTENTIAL
FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL
LIKELY DEVELOP AGAIN OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN IN AREAS OF THE WRN
STATES AROUND THE PERIPHERY OF THE UPPER HIGH LOCATED OVER NERN NV.
