...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SRN HIGH PLAINS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL PROGRESS EWD THROUGH THE NRN HIGH PLAINS
INTO THE WRN GREAT LAKES REGION. MEANWHILE...UPPER RIDGING WILL
BEGIN TO STRENGTHEN IN THE WEST FOLLOWING THE SYSTEM...WHILE A
STRONG UPPER HIGH IN THE SRN PLAINS WEAKENS SLIGHLY. VERY HOT
TEMPERATURES WILL LINGER AT THE SURFACE FROM THE SRN PLAINS WWD
   THROUGH THE SOUTHWEST.

AT THE SURFACE...A LOW WILL REACH SERN MANITOBA/NWRN MN BY LATE
AFTERNOON. A COLD FRONT WILL EXTEND SWD FROM THE LOW THEN SWWD INTO
THE CNTRL PLAINS TO A SURFACE LOW NEAR THE SERN CO/SWRN KS BORDERS.
S OF THIS...BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL ALIGN WITH LOW RHS ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE SRN HIGH PLAINS...WHILE MARGINAL CONDITIONS WILL BE
LIKELY ACROSS SRN TX. ISOLD DRY THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE NEAR
THE FRONT IN KS/OK BY AFTERNOON.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN HIGH PLAINS...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG/GUSTY WINDS...LOW RH...VERY HOT
   TEMPERATURES

A NEARLY STATIONARY FRONT NEAR THE KS/OK BORDERS WILL VERY SLOWLY
LIFT NWD THROUGH THE DAY...STRETCHING FROM A SURFACE LOW NEAR THE
SERN CO/SWRN KS BORDERS NEWD THROUGH KS. S OF THIS...WINDS WILL
INCREASE THROUGH THE DAY...WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS NEAR 20 TO 25 MPH
AND HIGHER GUSTS BY AFTERNOON. VERY HOT TEMPERATURES CAN BE
ANTICIPATED...WITH TEMPERATURES GENERALLY AOA 100 AND RHS IN THE
TEENS. SLIGHT WEAKENING IN THE UPPER RIDGE MAY ALLOW ISOLD DRY
THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP ALONG THE FRONT ONCE AGAIN BY AFTERNOON.
GIVEN RECENT/ONGOING FIRES...DRY FUELS WILL SUPPORT A HEIGHTENED
FIRE THREAT IN COMBINATION WITH FAVORABLE METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS.

   ...S TX...
SELY/SLY SURFACE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY STRENGTHEN THROUGH THE
DAY...WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS NEAR 15 TO 20 MPH BY AFTERNOON. HOT
TEMPERATURES CAN BE ANTICIPATED...AND HIGHS WILL GENERALLY BE AOA
100 AS RHS FALL INTO THE MID 20S TO LOWER 30S. DESPITE MARGINAL
