   PACIFIC NW. TO THE E...A COLD FRONT WILL STRETCH FROM LOWER MI SWWD
   INTO KS AND NRN OK WITH NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND STORMS. A WEAK
   PRE-FRONTAL TROUGH WILL STRETCH FROM OK INTO ERN NM...AND WILL HELP
   INDUCE LOCALLY GUSTY SELY WINDS OVER THE SRN PLAINS...INCLUDING TX
   WHERE DROUGHT PERSISTS.

   A THERMAL TROUGH WILL DEEPEN LATER TODAY...EXTENDING FROM THE DESERT
   SW NWWD THROUGH THE CNTRL VALLEYS OF CA...AND INTO WRN OREGON. A
   VERY DRY AIR MASS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE WITH MIN RH FROM THE SINGLE
   DIGITS OVER THE SRN CA/NV/AZ DESERTS INTO THE 10-15 PERCENT AS FAR N
   AS SRN OREGON. WINDS WILL BE MAINLY LIGHT AREA-WIDE...THE EXCEPTION
   BEING WRN OREGON. THERE...NLY WINDS OF 15-20 MPH WILL BE LIKELY W OF
   THE CASCADES. IN ADDITION...A MDT TO HIGH HAINES INDEX WILL EXIST
   LATER TODAY...RESULTING IN A FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR GROWTH OF

   MEANWHILE...AN UPPER LOW/TROUGH WILL CONTINUE EWD ACROSS ONTARIO
   WITH DRY HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE UPPER MS VALLEY AND WRN GREAT LAKES.
   HEAVY RAIN WILL PERSIST ALONG A STALLED FRONT FROM KS INTO MO...WITH
   TROPICAL MOISTURE SPREADING NWD ACROSS THE SRN MS VALLEY.

   THE UPPER RIDGE WILL STRENGTHEN ON TUE...RESULTING IN WARMING
   TEMPERATURES AND CONTINUED LOW RH. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO
   BE WEAK BUT A FEW GUSTS OF 15-20 MPH MAY OCCUR DUE TO TERRAIN
   EFFECTS AND AFTERNOON MIXING. A MDT HAINES INDEX WILL EXTEND NWD
   INTO OREGON...WITH HIGH VALUES INTO CNTRL AND SRN CA AS WELL AS SRN
