   STRONG SURFACE AND UPPER LOW OVER CENTRAL U.S. WILL TRANSITION
   EAST/NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH PERIOD WITH RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER
   MUCH OF THE EASTERN THIRD OF THE COUNTRY.  AN UPPER LEVEL
   DISTURBANCE WILL BRING MORE PRECIPITATION TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. 
   THE SOUTHWEST WILL SEE WARMING AND DRYING CONDITIONS WITH A WEAK
   OFFSHORE FLOW OVER MUCH OF SRN CALIFORNIA.

   ACROSS THE EASTERN ONE QUARTER OF THE U.S. AS AN UPPER TROUGH MOVES
   EAST/NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE PERIOD.  RAIN AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS
   WILL OCCUR ACROSS PARTS OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN REGION IN THE
   WEST...INTO THE NORTH CENTRAL U.S.  THE SOUTHWEST WILL REMAIN WARM
   AND DRY WITH AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINING OFF THE
