   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0143 AM CST SAT JAN 09 2010

   VALID 101200Z - 111200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER TROUGH WILL BEGIN TO MIGRATE EWD AWAY FROM THE ATLANTIC
COAST ON SUNDAY...WHILE SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SHIFTS FROM THE GREAT
PLAINS SWD INTO THE LOWER MS VALLEY REGION. AS THIS TAKES
PLACE...BRISK N-NWLY WINDS AND A VERY DRY AIRMASS WILL REMAIN
POSITIONED ACROSS THE SERN STATES INTO FL...THOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL
REMAIN COOL...WHICH WILL PRECLUDE A MORE SIGNIFICANT FIRE WEATHER
   THREAT.

   ...CENTRAL AND SRN FL PENINSULA...
MODEL FORECAST GUIDANCE INDICATES THAT DEWPOINTS IN THE TEENS WILL
BECOME ESTABLISHED ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL-SRN FL PENINSULA
ON SUNDAY. AS MODEST DAYTIME HEATING RAISES SURFACE TEMPERATURES TO
NEAR 50 DEG F...RH VALUES ARE FORECAST TO FALL INTO THE 20S. IN
ADDITION...BOUNDARY LAYER WIND SPEEDS ARE EXPECTED TO SUPPORT GUSTS
AS HIGH AS 20 MPH...WITH SUSTAINED WINDS OCCASIONALLY REACHING 15
MPH. HOWEVER...DUE TO THE MARGINAL TEMPERATURES AND LACK OF
PROLONGED DRYNESS...A CRITICAL OUTLOOK AREA DOES NOT APPEAR
   NECESSARY AT THIS TIME.
