   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0229 AM CST MON JAN 25 2010

   VALID 251200Z - 261200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A BROAD UPPER TROUGH WILL BE CENTERED OVER THE GREAT LAKES AND OH
VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON...WITH A WEAK UPPER RIDGE AXIS ACROSS THE
GREAT BASIN. GENERALLY COOL AND/OR DRY WEATHER WILL PREVAIL AT THE
SURFACE FROM THE FOUR CORNERS STATES INTO THE PLAINS AND GULF COAST
REGION. GUSTY WINDS WILL PREVAIL OVER THE SERN STATES BEHIND THE
COLD FRONT WITH MODERATELY LOW RH THIS AFTERNOON.

   ...NRN AND NERN FL...
STRONG WLY WINDS OF 15-25 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS WILL OCCUR IN A POST
FRONTAL REGIME TODAY. MIN RH IS EXPECTED TO DIP INTO THE 30 PERCENT
RANGE AS WELL. HOWEVER...RECENT PRECIPITATION AS WELL AS ONLY
MARGINALLY DRY ANTECEDENT CONDITIONS SUGGEST ONLY A MINOR FIRE
   THREAT DURING THE DAY.

   ...SRN AND WRN TX...
WINDS WILL BE MUCH LIGHTER TODAY COMPARED TO YESTERDAY WITH HIGH
PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE. IT WILL REMAIN QUITE DRY THOUGH...WITH MIN
RH DROPPING INTO THE TEENS ACROSS SW AND CNTRL TX AND NEAR THE LOWER
   RIO GRANDE VALLEY.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0229 AM CST MON JAN 25 2010

   VALID 261200Z - 271200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A WEAK UPPER RIDGE OVER THE ROCKIES WILL WEAKEN AS AN UPPER
SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES INTO THE SWRN U.S. AT THE SURFACE...LOW
PRESSURE WILL DEEPEN OVER ERN CO...INDUCING GUSTY SLY WINDS ACROSS
THE SRN PLAINS WITH WARM TEMPERATURES. TO THE E...GENERALLY COOL
CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL WITH HIGH PRESSURE. GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH
MAY YIELD MARGINAL FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS FOR SRN FL.

   ...SRN FL...
A DRY AIR MASS WILL BE IN PLACE ON TUE WITH HIGH PRESSURE. WINDS
OVER THE CNTRL PENINSULA WILL BE LIGHT UNDER THE HIGH...BUT WINDS
NEAR 15 MPH ARE EXPECTED ACROSS NRN FL...AS WELL AS FAR SRN FL ALONG
WITH MIN RH READINGS IN THE 25-30 PERCENT RANGE FOR A MARGINAL FIRE
   THREAT.

   ...SERN NM/WRN TX...
SLY FLOW WILL RETURN AS LOW PRESSURE DEEPENS OVER THE CNTRL HIGH
PLAINS. A DRY AIR MASS WILL ALREADY BE IN PLACE...WITH MIN RH
DROPPING INTO THE 20 PERCENT RANGE AS HIGHS REACH THE 60S. SUSTAINED
SLY WINDS NEAR 15 MPH ARE LIKELY WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
