   ...SYNOPSIS...
A CLOSED UPPER LOW WILL REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY OVER THE NERN
CONUS. SFC HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE MS VALLEY...COMBINED WITH
DEEPENING SFC LOW OFF THE ATLANTIC COAST...WILL PRODUCE STRONG NW
WINDS ACROSS MUCH OF THE SERN CONUS. VERY DRY AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE
REGION...RESULTING IN WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.
FARTHER W...A SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE TOWARDS THE SRN
PLAINS...WITH GUSTY WINDS DEVELOPING ACROSS FAR WRN TX.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - FL...SERN AL...SRN AND CNTRL
   GA...EXTREME SW SC...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS...LOW RH...

VERY DRY AIR CHARACTERIZED BY DEWPOINTS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO
LOWER 20S /PER MORNING SFC OBS OVER NRN GA AND AL/ WILL CONTINUE TO
SPREAD SEWD TOWARDS FL. AS AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES CLIMB INTO THE 40S
AND 50S...RH VALUES WILL DROP INTO THE UPPER TEENS TO 20S ACROSS
MUCH OF THE REGION. STRONG VERTICAL WIND PROFILE ENHANCED BY
MID-LEVEL JET MAX ROTATING AROUND THE NERN CONUS CLOSED
LOW...COMBINED WITH STEEP LOW LEVEL LAPSE RATES...WILL YIELD
SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 15-20 MPH DEVELOPING QUICKLY AFTER SUNRISE.
AS THE AFTERNOON PROGRESSES...WIND GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH MAY BECOME
COMMON...PARTICULARLY ACROSS GA AND NRN FL. WINDS SHOULD DECREASE

   OF RH VALUES.

   ...WRN TX...
MID-LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED JET MAX WILL MOVE TOWARDS
THE SRN PLAINS. WEAK SFC CYCLOGENESIS OVER W TX IN COMBINATION WITH

THE TRANS-PECOS REGION. VERY DRY AIR MASS ALREADY IN PLACE WILL

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0304 AM CST THU FEB 25 2010

   VALID 261200Z - 271200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG VERTICALLY STACKED CLOSED UPPER LOW WILL REMAIN FIXED OVER
THE NE...WHILE A SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES ACROSS THE GULF COAST. DRY W
TO NW FLOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF THE SE. A STRONG PACIFIC
TROUGH WILL BRING WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION TO THE WEST COAST.

   ...NRN AND CNTRL FL...SRN GA...
A VERY DRY AIR MASS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE AS NWLY FLOW IS REINFORCED
BY A CLOSED LOW OVER THE NERN CONUS. WARMER AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES
WILL ONCE AGAIN YIELD RH VALUES IN THE UPPER TEENS TO 20S ACROSS THE
REGION. GRADUAL WEAKENING AND NWD SHIFT OF THE NERN CONUS LOW...IN
ADDITION TO PRESSURE FALLS OVER THE GULF IN RESPONSE TO A SHORTWAVE
TROUGH...SHOULD RESULT IN WEAKER SFC WIND FIELDS ACROSS THE REGION.
SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH ACROSS NRN AND CNTRL FL...AND 15 TO
20 MPH IN SRN GA...CAN BE EXPECTED IN THE AFTERNOON. GIVEN THE
PERSISTENCE OF THE DRY AIR MASS OVER THE REGION COMBINED WITH NEAR
CRITICAL WINDS...THIS AREA WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED FOR A
POTENTIAL UPGRADE IN THE NEXT OUTLOOK.
