   WEAKEN...WHILE A SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES ACROSS TX. A DRY AIR MASS
   CHARACTERIZED BY ENHANCED NWLY WINDS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE
   SOUTHEAST INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION. GUSTY NW WINDS ARE EXPECTED
   TO DEVELOP ALONG THE LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY OF TX IN THE WAKE OF A
   COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE. AN AMPLIFIED UPPER RIDGE WILL SHIFT TOWARDS
   THE GREAT PLAINS...WHILE A STRONG PACIFIC TROUGH MOVES INLAND ACROSS
   THE WRN CONUS.

   NW WINDS WILL DEVELOP ONCE AGAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON HRS S OF A
   CLOSED LOW OVER THE NERN CONUS. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO
   OCCUR IN SC AND GA...IN CLOSER PROXIMITY TO THE LOW...WHERE GUSTS TO
   25 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE AFTERNOON. ACROSS FL...WEAKER WINDS
   ARE EXPECTED...WHERE SUSTAINED SPEEDS WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 5 TO
   15 MPH. CONTINENTAL TRAJECTORIES OF SFC FLOW WILL MAINTAIN A DRY AIR
   MASS OVER THE REGION. AS TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE 50S TO LOWER
   60S...RH VALUES WILL ONCE AGAIN DIP INTO THE TEENS TO LOWER 20S.
   ALTHOUGH CONDITIONS MAY APPROACH CRITICAL THRESHOLDS BRIEFLY IN THE
   AFTERNOON...THE ENVIRONMENT APPEARS TO BE MARGINAL DUE TO WEAKENING
   WIND FIELDS.

   SHORTWAVE TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED MID-LEVEL JET MAX WILL PROGRESS
   ACROSS S TX. SFC LOW/COLD FRONT AHEAD OF THIS FEATURE WILL MOVE EWD
   TOWARDS THE GULF COAST...LEAVING MUCH OF TX IN A DRY POST-FRONTAL
   AIR MASS. NAM/GFS MODEL FORECAST SOUNDINGS INDICATE THE DEVELOPMENT
   OF A DEEPLY MIXED BL DURING THE AFTERNOON BENEATH A ZONE OF ENHANCED
   WINDS ALOFT...SUGGESTING WIND GUST POTENTIAL TO NEAR 30 MPH ALONG
   THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. THE COMBINATION OF A DRY AIR MASS AND GUSTY
   WINDS WILL LEAD TO ENHANCED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS DURING THE
   AFTERNOON.
