   INTO THE SERN STATES BY AFTERNOON...AIDING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF
   SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION. MEANWHILE OVER THE
   GREAT PLAINS...ANOTHER DISTURBANCE WILL PIVOT SWD AROUND A CLOSED
   UPPER LOW CENTERED OVER THE LOWER MO VALLEY REGION. AS A
   RESULT...NLY WIND FIELDS ALOFT WILL STRENGTHEN OVER THE CENTRAL AND
   SRN HIGH PLAINS...FAVORING STRONG GUSTY WINDS.
   
   ...OK/TX PANHANDLES NWD INTO SERN CO AND SWRN KS...
   AS AN UPPER LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES SWD ACROSS THE REGION
   THROUGH THE MORNING INTO MID AFTERNOON...N-NWLY WIND SPEEDS IN THE
   850-700 MB LAYER ARE FORECAST TO STRENGTHEN SIGNIFICANTLY /AOA 40
   KT/...BEFORE SLACKING SOMEWHAT BY LATE AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING.
   FORECAST SOUNDINGS INDICATE THAT AFTERNOON BOUNDARY LAYER MIXING
   WILL EXTEND THROUGH THIS LAYER AS WELL...WHICH WILL FAVOR WIND GUSTS
   UP TO 30-40 MPH OUT OF THE N-NW. HOWEVER...HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE
   FORECAST TO REMAIN IN THE 50S...AND MINIMUM RH VALUES ARE EXPECTED
   TO ONLY FALL INTO THE 20S...WHICH SHOULD PRECLUDE THE DEVELOPMENT OF
   WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

   AS TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE 60S AND 70S ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTH
   TX...MINIMUM RH VALUES DURING THE AFTERNOON ARE FORECAST TO RANGE
   FROM 30-35 PERCENT OVER THE MID COASTAL PLAIN TO THE TEENS ALONG THE
   RIO GRANDE. THOUGH NWLY WINDS MAY GUST UP TO 20-25 MPH AT
   TIMES...FORECAST GUIDANCE INDICATES THAT SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS WILL
   REMAIN BELOW CRITICAL VALUES.

   POTENTIAL FOR VERY GUSTY WINDS ACROSS THE REGION. HOWEVER...THE
   COMBINATION OF RECENT RAINFALL IN ADDITION TO ONLY MARGINALLY LOW RH
   VALUES SHOULD PRECLUDE THE DEVELOPMENT OF WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER CONDITIONS.
