   ...SYNOPSIS...
STRONGEST UPPER-LEVEL WLYS WILL BE CONFINED TO THE NRN HALF OF THE
CONUS ON THU AS AN EXPANSIVE MIDLEVEL ANTICYCLONE DEVELOPS OVER THE
CNTRL/SRN STATES. EMBEDDED WITHIN THE NRN STREAM...A SHORTWAVE
TROUGH IS FORECAST TO ENTER THE GREAT LAKES REGION DURING THE SECOND
HALF OF THE D2 PERIOD. SURFACE REFLECTION OF THIS UPPER FEATURE WILL
ENTER LWR MI BY LATE AFTERNOON...WITH A COLD FRONT TRAILING WWD INTO
THE CNTRL PLAINS. MEANWHILE OVER THE GREAT BASIN...MODERATE MIDLEVEL
SWLYS WILL LEAD TO ANOTHER DAY OF LOCALLY STRONG SURFACE WIND
   SPEEDS.

   ...SRN/E-CNTRL NV...ERN/NRN UT...ERN ID...SWRN/S-CNTRL WY...
SWLY SURFACE WIND SPEEDS NEAR 15 TO PERHAPS LOCALLY 20 MPH ARE
FORECAST TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA ON THU. THIS WILL OCCUR AS DEEP
BOUNDARY LAYER MIXING AIDS IN MIXING DOWN MODERATELY STRONG MIDLEVEL
WINDS. WARM SURFACE TEMPERATURES AND A DRY ANTECEDENT
AIRMASS...POSSIBLY AIDED BY DOWNSLOPE FLOW OVER WY...WILL ALSO YIELD
CRITICALLY LOW RH VALUES. THESE CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN AN
   ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT.

...CO FRONT RANGE AND ADJACENT PLAINS...NRN/WRN NM...
ISOLATED TO PERHAPS SCATTERED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS FORECAST
TO OCCUR FROM THE CO FRONT RANGE S-SWWD INTO NRN/WRN NM ON THU. DRY
INVERTED-V BOUNDARY LAYER PROFILES WILL RESULT IN A THREAT FOR DRY
THUNDERSTORMS AND FIRE STARTS FROM LIGHTNING. THOUGH STORM COVERAGE
IS IN QUESTION ATTM...AREA MAY REQUIRE AN UPGRADE TO CRITICAL GIVEN
   VULNERABLE NATURE OF FUELS.

   ...SWRN/CNTRL KS...
ANOTHER DAY OF HOT AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED S OF A FRONT
LOCATED OVER NEB. THIS WILL FAVOR CRITICALLY LOW RH VALUES...AND
WILL RESULT IN ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS AS WINDS STRENGTHEN
   TO 15-20 MPH.

   ...LWR/MID OH VALLEY...
MODERATELY STRONG W-SWLY SURFACE WINDS FROM 15-20 MPH ARE FORECAST
TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION AS PRESSURE GRADIENT TIGHTENS IN
RESPONSE TO AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING ACROSS LWR MI. A VERY
HOT...DRY...AND WELL MIXED BOUNDARY LAYER AIRMASS WILL BE DRAWN EWD
INTO THE AREA AS THIS OCCURS...FAVORING THE DEVELOPMENT OF MIN RH
VALUES IN THE TEENS AND TWENTIES. ELEVATED TO LOCALLY CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE AS A RESULT.
