   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0203 AM CDT MON JUL 02 2012

   VALID 021200Z - 031200Z

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A LARGE SCALE UPPER RIDGE WILL PERSIST OVER THE CNTRL U.S. WHILE A
TROUGH EXITS THE NORTHEAST AND MID ATLANTIC. A STRONGER UPPER TROUGH
WILL IMPACT THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST OVERNIGHT. AT THE SURFACE...NEARLY
STATIONARY FRONTS WILL EXTEND FROM A ND SURFACE LOW SWWD TO THE
GREAT BASIN...AND SEWD INTO THE MID ATLANTIC.

   ...WRN MT INTO NWRN WY...
AN EARLY MORNING CNTRL MT VORT MAX IS EXPECTED TO EJECT ENEWD INTO
CANADA...WITH SUBTLE HEIGHT RISES IN ITS WAKE THROUGH MUCH OF THE
DAY. AFTER 21Z...HEIGHTS WILL BEGIN TO FALL IN ADVANCE OF THE NEXT
UPPER TROUGH...POSSIBLY SUPPORTING A LIMITED TEMPORAL THREAT OF
ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT ALONG THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF
WRN MT INTO NWRN WY. WEAK INSTABILITY/MARGINAL MID-LEVEL MOISTURE
WILL LIKELY PRECLUDE A GREATER COVERAGE OF STORMS.

   ...SRN GREAT BASIN...
SIMILAR TO THE PAST FEW DAYS...A WRN TROUGH AND DIURNAL HEATING WILL
INDUCE AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING SURFACE PRESSURE FALLS...LEADING TO
GUSTY SLY/PREFRONTAL WINDS ACROSS THE SRN GREAT BASIN. SUSTAINED
WINDS AOB 15 MPH WILL PRECLUDE A CRITICAL ISSUANCE. HOWEVER...GIVEN
THE ANTECEDENT DRY AIR MASS...MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES IN THE
SINGLE DIGITS AND POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERY...A HEIGHTENED FIRE THREAT
   WILL PERSIST.
