   AREAS AFFECTED...FAR NERN NY...MUCH OF VT/NH/ME

   CONCERNING...FREEZING RAIN 

   VALID 110913Z - 111315Z

   SUMMARY...FREEZING RAIN RATES OF 0.05 IN/3HR WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS
   FAR NERN NY INTO VT/NH/ME BEFORE 15Z. FREEZING RAIN THREAT WILL THEN
   COME TO AN END AS SURFACE TEMPERATURES WARM ABOVE FREEZING BETWEEN
   15-18Z.

   DISCUSSION...A 60+ KT LOW-LEVEL SSWLY JET SAMPLED BY THE BGM VWP
   WILL SPREAD NEWD ACROSS NEW ENGLAND THIS MORNING. ASSOCIATED
   LOW-LEVEL WAA AND ISENTROPIC UPGLIDE WILL MAINTAIN SHOWERY
   PRECIPITATION AS IT MOVES FROM THE HUDSON VALLEY/SRN NEW ENGLAND
   AREA INTO VT/NH/ME. MEANWHILE...6-8C WARM NOSE AT 850 MB WILL BECOME
   VERTICALLY COLLOCATED WITH SUB-FREEZING SURFACE TEMPERATURES AS THE
   MORNING PROGRESSES. THIS WILL FAVOR PRECIPITATION IN THE FORM OF
   FREEZING RAIN...WITH RATES LIKELY REACHING 0.05 IN/3HR. SHORT-TERM
   MODEL GUIDANCE INDICATES ABOVE FREEZING SURFACE TEMPERATURES WILL
   SPREAD EWD FROM THE HUDSON VALLEY...AS WELL AS NWD FROM THE ATLANTIC
   COAST ACROSS NEARLY ALL OF VT/NH/ME BY 15-18Z AND BRING THE THREAT
   FOR FREEZING RAIN TO AN END OVER THE REGION.
