   MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0094
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0519 PM CST WED FEB 12 2014

   AREAS AFFECTED...CNTRL AND SRN FL

   CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 8...

   VALID 122319Z - 130115Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 8 CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...A LINE OF STORMS WILL CONTINUE EWD ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF
FL THROUGH EVENING WITH A MARGINAL WIND AND HAIL THREAT.

DISCUSSION...A LINE OF STORMS CONTINUES TO MOVE QUICKLY EWD ACROSS
CNTRL FL...WITH NERN PART OF THE LINE INTERSECTING A COLD FRONT
WHICH WAS SAGGING SLOWLY SWD. THIS BOUNDARY COULD GIVES STORMS A
BOOST AS THEY CROSS IT...BUT THE THREAT SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE GUSTY
WINDS AND SMALL HAIL AS WINDS QUICKLY VEER WITH OUTFLOW.

TO THE S...OTHER STORMS HAVE FORMED AHEAD OF THE LINE OVER WHERE
GREATER DESTABILIZATION OCCURRED DURING THE DAY. DESPITE A WIND
PROFILE THAT WOULD APPEAR TO FAVOR SUPERCELLS...STORMS ARE FORWARD
PROPAGATING IN A NEWD DIRECTION...LIKELY DUE TO MARGINAL BOUNDARY
LAYER MOISTURE QUALITY PER XMR 21Z SOUNDING AND GPS PWAT ONLY AROUND
1.25 INCHES WHICH WOULD FAVOR COOLER OUTFLOW. STILL...A FEW CORES
ARE PRODUCING HAIL WITH COLD PROFILES ALOFT.

A MARGINAL WIND AND HAIL THREAT SHOULD THUS PERSIST THIS EVENING
BEFORE THE MAIN LINE CLEARS THE E COAST.
