   MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0483
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0622 PM CDT TUE APR 29 2014

   AREAS AFFECTED...ERN NC

   CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 117...

   VALID 292322Z - 300015Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 117 CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...THE SEVERE/TORNADO THREAT WILL CONTINUE THE NEXT HOUR OR
SO ACROSS WW 117. A GENERAL WEAKENING TREND OVER THE LAST 30 MINUTES
HAS BEEN NOTED AND SHOULD GRADUALLY CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING. A NEW
   WW IS NOT EXPECTED.

DISCUSSION...ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO BE
POSSIBLE FOR THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO...ESPECIALLY IN THE VICINITY OF
THE WARM FRONT OVER ERN NC. WHILE SBCAPE AROUND 1500 J/KG WAS STILL
NOTED BY MESOANALYSIS...THE BOUNDARY LAYER WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY
STABLE WITH LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING. THIS SHOULD LEAD TO ANY
LINGERING THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY TO BECOME INCREASINGLY ELEVATED WITH
TIME. FURTHERMORE...DEEP LAYER SHEAR WEAKENS WITH EASTWARD EXTENT
AND AS STORM MOVE OFF THE BOUNDARY...THEY SHOULD STRUGGLE TO
MAINTAIN ORGANIZATION. THE MAIN THREAT THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO APPEARS
TO MAINLY BE WIND/HAIL. A NEW WW IS NOT EXPECTED AND WW 117 IS SET
   TO EXPIRE AT 01Z.
