   CONTINUES.

   SUMMARY...DAMAGING WIND POTENTIAL IS LIKELY TO CONTINUE TO INCREASE
   ACROSS EASTERN AL/MIDDLE TN TO EASTERN TN AND WEST/NORTH GA TO THE
   FAR WESTERN CAROLINAS THIS AFTERNOON. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 273
   CONTINUES UNTIL 23Z. AN ADDITIONAL WATCH IS LIKELY /80+ PERCENT/
   ACROSS PARTS OF GA/EASTERN TN AND THE FAR WESTERN CAROLINAS.

   DISCUSSION...AN EXTENSIVE NORTH-SOUTH SQUALL LINE...ALONG WITH
   PRECEDING STORMS...HAS SHOWN SIGNS OF GENERAL INTENSIFICATION/MODEST
   EAST-NORTHEASTWARD ACCELERATION EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AS IT MOVES
   ACROSS MIDDLE TN/EASTERN AL. A 46 KT WIND GUST WAS RECENTLY /1835Z/
   MEASURED AT ALBERTVILLE AL. TRENDS IN SURFACE DATA GENERALLY
   INDICATE THAT PRE-SQUALL LINE CONVERGENCE HAS SOMEWHAT INCREASED VIA
   A TREND TOWARD SOUTH-SOUTHEASTERLY LOW-LEVEL WINDS COINCIDENT WITH A
   CORRIDOR OF 2+ MB/2-HR PRESSURE FALLS...WHICH ARE MAXIMIZED ACROSS
   NORTHEAST AL/NORTHWEST GA. AHEAD OF THE SQUALL LINE...UPPER 70S AND
   80S F SURFACE TEMPERATURES AND UPPER 60S/LOWER 70S F SURFACE
   DEWPOINTS ARE CONTRIBUTING TO 1000-2500 J/KG MLCAPE /HIGHEST ACROSS
   AL INTO GA/. INDICATIVE OF THE STRENGTHENING DEEP-LAYER/NEARLY
   UNIDIRECTIONAL SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS ABOVE THE SURFACE...LATEST
   WSR-88D VWP DATA FROM BIRMINGHAM IN THE IMMEDIATE WAKE OF THE SQUALL
   LINE IS SHOWING SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS AS STRONG AS 50 KT BETWEEN 2-4
   KM AGL. IN ALL...DAMAGING WIND POTENTIAL SHOULD FURTHER INCREASE AS
