   MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1092
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   1037 PM CDT THU JUN 19 2014

AREAS AFFECTED...TX PANHANDLE AND WEST TX

   CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 335...

   VALID 200337Z - 200430Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 335
   CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...AN ISOLATED SEVERE THREAT MAY CONTINUE LATE THIS EVENING
ACROSS PARTS OF THE SERN TX PANHANDLE AND IN NW TX. WIND DAMAGE AND
HAIL WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREATS. THE THREAT IS EXPECTED TO BECOME
INCREASINGLY MARGINAL AND NO ADDITIONAL WW ISSUANCES ARE EXPECTED
   LATE THIS EVENING.

DISCUSSION...A CONVECTIVE CLUSTER CURRENTLY JUST TO THE EAST OF
LUBBOCK TX...IS LOCATED ALONG A CORRIDOR OF INSTABILITY WHERE SFC
DEWPOINTS ARE IN THE MID 60S F AND MLCAPE IS ESTIMATED NEAR 1500
J/KG. IN ADDITION TO THE INSTABILITY...THE WSR-88D VWP AT AMARILLO
AND LUBBOCK TX SHOW 40 KT OF 0-6 KM SHEAR SUGGESTING THE ENVIRONMENT
MAY CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AN ISOLATED SEVERE THREAT LATE THIS EVENING.
AS THE COLD POOL TO THE SOUTHWEST OF CHILDRESS TX MOVES ACROSS THE
ERN PART OF WW 335...A FEW DAMAGING WIND GUSTS MAY OCCUR.
HOWEVER...WEAKENING INSTABILITY AND INCREASING CIN ACROSS NW TX
SHOULD MAKE THE THREAT MORE MARGINAL WITH TIME LATE THIS EVENING.
