   MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0966
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0826 PM CDT WED JUN 10 2015

AREAS AFFECTED...CENTRAL INTO PARTS OF EASTERN NEB

   CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 282...

   VALID 110126Z - 110230Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 282
   CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...A FEW STRONG WIND GUSTS OR MARGINALLY SEVERE HAIL WILL
CONTINUE TO BE POSSIBLE THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO. HOWEVER...THE SEVERE
THREAT WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH INTO THE NIGHTTIME HOURS AND A NEW
WATCH IS NOT EXPECTED ONCE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 282 EXPIRES AT
   02Z.

DISCUSSION...A RATHER MESSY EVOLUTION HAS OCCURRED ACROSS CENTRAL
INTO EASTERN NEBRASKA EARLY THIS EVENING. THE OVERALL THREAT APPEARS
TO BE DIMINISHING AS BOUNDARY LAYER STABILIZATION ENSUES WITH LOSS
OF DAYTIME HEATING. THE LACK OF STRONGER FORCING FOR ASCENT AND
MODEST DEEP LAYER SHEAR HAS LIMITED THE ABILITY FOR THE COMPLEX TO
BECOME ORGANIZED AND REMAIN VIGOROUS ENOUGH TO SUPPORT A MORE
WIDESPREAD AND LONG-LIVED SEVERE THREAT DESPITE THE PRESENCE OF THE
SFC BOUNDARY AND MODERATE INSTABILITY. A FEW GUSTY WINDS OR
MARGINALLY SEVERE HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO ACROSS
WATCH 282 AND POINTS JUST DOWNSTREAM. HOWEVER...A NEW WATCH IS NOT
ANTICIPATED BEYOND THE 02Z EXPIRATION TIME OF WATCH 282.
