   MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1317
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0620 PM CDT MON JUL 06 2015

   AREAS AFFECTED...SERN KS...WRN MO...NERN OK

   CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 394...

   VALID 062320Z - 070115Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 394
   CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...A PRIMARILY DAMAGING WIND THREAT WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE
WATCH AREA AND PERHAPS INTO NRN OK THIS EVENING. AN ADDITIONAL WATCH
COULD BE REQUIRED INTO NRN OK.

DISCUSSION...A SUBSTANTIAL LINE OF STORMS CONTINUES TO EVOLVE ALONG
A STRONG COLD FRONT FROM NRN MO INTO SERN KS AND NWRN OK. SLY WINDS
AHEAD OF THE LINE ARE FEEDING A VERY MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS NWD
WITH STRONG/FOCUSED FORCING FOR ASCENT DUE TO 30 KT NLY WINDS BEHIND
THE FRONT. THE LOW LCL/LARGE LOW-LEVEL CAPE ENVIRONMENT AND VEERING
WINDS WITH HEIGHT HAS LED TO SPORADIC AREAS OF ROTATION ALONG BOWING
SEGMENTS...WHERE BRIEF TORNADOES WERE REPORTED. HOWEVER...THE MAIN
THREAT SHOULD BE LOCALLY DAMAGING DOWNBURSTS GIVEN THE GENERAL SLOW
   MOVEMENT.

RECENT RADAR TRENDS SHOW A RATHER ROBUST PORTION OF THE LINE ACROSS
SRN KS INTO NRN OK...AND A SMALL WATCH MAY BE NEEDED FOR A WIND
   THREAT.
