   MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1866
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0656 AM CDT MON OCT 13 2014

AREAS AFFECTED...PORTIONS OF WRN AND CENTRAL AR / SRN MO

   CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 532...

   VALID 131156Z - 131300Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 532
   CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...A THREAT FOR STRONG TO DAMAGING WIND GUSTS CONTINUES
ACROSS THE REMAINING VALID PORTIONS OF WW 532...EAST OF A LINE FROM
STONE COUNTY MO TO PIKE COUNTY AR. THE ERN PART OF WW 532 MAY BE
INCLUDED IN A NEW TORNADO WATCH AS DESCRIBED IN SPC MESOSCALE
   DISCUSSION 1865.

DISCUSSION...TRENDS IN MOSAIC RADAR IMAGERY SHOWED A LINE OF STORMS
EXTENDING FROM CENTRAL/SWRN MO SWD THROUGH WRN AR. THIS LINE WAS
MOVING EWD AT 20-30 KT...WHILE EMBEDDED BOWING LINE SEGMENTS WERE
TRACKING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40-45 KT. STRONGEST SURFACE PRESSURE
FALLS ARE IN SRN MO WITH THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IN CENTRAL TO NERN
OK EXPECTED TO TRACK INTO MO TODAY. THESE PRESSURE FALLS ARE ALSO
SUPPORTING AN ISALLOBARIC RESPONSE SUCH THAT SURFACE WINDS IN SERN
MO AND ERN AR ARE REMAINING FROM THE SOUTHEAST...ENHANCING LOW-LEVEL
   SHEAR FOR THE TORNADO THREAT.

MEANWHILE...THE CONTINUED FAST NEWD STORM MOTIONS AND FURTHER
DESTABILIZATION THIS MORNING WITH EWD EXTENT ACROSS WW 532 WILL
SUPPORT THE THREAT FOR STRONG/DAMAGING WIND GUSTS.
