   ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED OVER PARTS OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS
   THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
   DEVELOPMENT OF LARGE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER PARTS OF THE
   CENTRAL AND EASTERN KANSAS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

   THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE

          CENTRAL AND EASTERN KANSAS

   ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE ACROSS THE ADJACENT
   CENTRAL PLAINS INTO OZARK PLATEAU...AS WELL AS ACROSS PARTS OF THE
   SOUTHEAST AND ATLANTIC SEABOARD...AND UPPER MIDWEST INTO THE GREAT
   LAKES REGION

   VIGOROUS THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS ONGOING ACROSS PARTS OF THE MID
   TO LOWER MISSOURI VALLEY AT MIDDAY...WITH THE ENVIRONMENT TO THE
   SOUTH AND WEST BECOMING VERY CONDUCIVE TO INTENSIFICATION...AND
   ADDITIONAL STORM DEVELOPMENT.  SOME OF THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE CAPABLE
   OF PRODUCING VERY LARGE HAIL...WITH STORMS THEN EXPECTED TO EVOLVE
   INTO ONE OR MORE LARGER SOUTHWARD MOVING CLUSTERS CAPABLE OF
   PRODUCING SWATHS OF DAMAGING WIND GUSTS...PARTICULARLY ACROSS PARTS
   OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN KANSAS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

   STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGERS ARE MONITORING THIS DEVELOPING
   SITUATION. THOSE IN THE THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE
   WEATHER SAFETY RULES AND TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA
   WEATHER RADIO FOR POSSIBLE WATCHES...WARNINGS...AND STATEMENTS LATER
   TODAY.
