   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
   
          CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
   
   EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT FROM 610 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT.
   
   HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
   MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
   
   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 65
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH OF
   LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS TO 35 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MONTICELLO
   ARKANSAS.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   DISCUSSION...CURRENT LITTLE ROCK RADAR DATA INDICATE STORMS EVOLVING
   INTO LINE SEGMENTS WITH CONSIDERABLE COLD POOL GENERATION.  GIVEN
   THE INFLUX OF A HOT AND VERY MOIST BOUNDARY LAYER WITH MLCAPE OF
   1000-1500 J/KG AND INFLUENCE OF VORTICITY MAXIMUM TRANSLATING EWD
   THROUGH THE OZARK PLATEAU...EXPECT CONTINUED UPSCALE GROWTH OF
   ONGOING STORMS INTO A SEWD-PROGRESSING QLCS BY LATE EVENING INTO
   TONIGHT.  DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY HAZARD THROUGH SOME
   HAIL WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.
