   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 623
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   400 PM CDT WED SEP 5 2012
   
   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
   
          FAR SOUTHERN KANSAS
          NORTHERN AND WESTERN OKLAHOMA
   
   EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 400 PM UNTIL
   1100 PM CDT.
   
   HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 75
   MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
   
   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 90
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 60 MILES NORTHWEST OF
   ALVA OKLAHOMA TO 55 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF GAGE OKLAHOMA.  FOR

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   NEXT FEW HOURS. ADDITIONAL STORMS MAY MOVE INTO WRN OK FROM ERN
   PORTIONS OF THE TX PANHANDLE. DEEPLY-MIXED ENVIRONMENT AND ASCENT
   WITH WEAK IMPULSE IN SRN EDGE OF THE WLYS OVER CO SHOULD AUGMENT
   RISK FOR SVR WIND AND POSSIBLY HAIL AS STORMS ORGANIZE INTO A
   CLUSTER.

   TO 1.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 65
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 550. MEAN STORM
