The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Central and East Texas
* Effective this Monday morning from 235 AM until 900 AM CST.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue to increase in coverage and
intensity through the early morning hours near an eastward-advancing
front and ahead of an upper-level impulse. Bands of
east/northeastward-moving strong to severe thunderstorms capable of
hail and damaging wind are expected into a large part of central
Texas including the I-35 corridor, reaching parts of east Texas
toward daybreak, where an isolated tornado risk cannot be ruled out.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles north northeast
of Dallas TX to 30 miles west southwest of Austin TX. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
