   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 101
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   225 PM CDT SUN APR 24 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     WESTERN IOWA
     NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS
     SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA
     FAR NORTHWEST MISSOURI
     EASTERN NEBRASKA
     SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 225 PM UNTIL
     1000 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     WIDESPREAD LARGE HAIL LIKELY WITH ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL
       EVENTS TO 2.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WINDS LIKELY WITH ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT GUSTS
       TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...A BROKEN BAND OR TWO OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
   WILL MOVE FROM EASTERN NEBRASKA INTO WESTERN IOWA AND NORTHWEST
   MISSOURI LATER TODAY...WITH ADDITIONAL STORMS FORMING IN THE WAKE OF
   THESE ACROSS SOUTH-CENTRAL NEBRASKA. OTHER STORMS SHOULD
   FORM/STRENGTHEN NORTHWARD FROM NORTHEAST NEBRASKA INTO SOUTHEAST
   SOUTH DAKOTA AND SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA. SOME OF THE
   ACTIVITY...ESPECIALLY IN NEBRASKA AND WESTERN IOWA...WILL BE CAPABLE
   OF LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WIND...AND POSSIBLE A TORNADO OR TWO
   THROUGH EARLY TONIGHT.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES SOUTH
   SOUTHWEST OF BEATRICE NEBRASKA TO 45 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF
   WORTHINGTON MINNESOTA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   TO 2.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 65
