The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 1045 PM
until 500 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...A cluster of storms across southwest Kansas should
continue to move northeastward into central Kansas, while additional
storms move into the region overnight out of northern Oklahoma.
Damaging winds and bouts of severe hail will be the most common
hazards, but a linear-storm-related tornado risk cannot be entirely
ruled out given the strength of low-level shear.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80
statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles north of Salina
KS to 35 miles southwest of Wichita KS. For a complete depiction of

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean storm motion vector
