   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   1005 AM CDT THU JUN 5 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
     WESTERN KENTUCKY
     SOUTHERN MISSOURI
     NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI
     WESTERN TENNESSEE

   * EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON FROM 1005 AM
     UNTIL 500 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WINDS LIKELY WITH ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT GUSTS
       TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 85
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES NORTH
   NORTHWEST OF FLIPPIN ARKANSAS TO 65 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF
   JACKSON TENNESSEE.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   DISCUSSION...LONG-LIVED MCS IS PROPAGATING SEWD ACROSS SWRN MO/NWRN
   AR AT ROUGHLY 50KT.  THIS COMPLEX OF STORMS SHOULD SPREAD SEWD
   TOWARD WRN TN ALONG PRE-EXISTING SYNOPTIC FRONT/OUTFLOW BOUNDARY. 
   DAMAGING WINDS ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE LEADING EDGE OF SQUALL LINE. 
   STRONG DIURNAL HEATING MAY ALLOW MCS TO SPREAD INTO NRN MS LATER
   THIS AFTERNOON.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 65
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 550. MEAN STORM
   MOTION VECTOR 29040.
