   URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 244
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   240 AM CDT Fri May 19 2017

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
     West Texas

   * Effective this Friday morning from 240 AM until 900 AM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...

       inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Severe thunderstorms are expected to continue to develop
along a retreating dryline within an increasingly moist and unstable
environment. Supercells capable of large hail will be possible, with
an eventual clustering of storms potentially leading to some
damaging wind risk within an environment conducive for
   near-surface-based updrafts/downdrafts.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles south of
Midland TX to 45 miles east northeast of Abilene TX. For a complete
depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update
   (WOUS64 KWNS WOU4).

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.
