   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   220 PM CDT SUN JUN 8 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
     NORTHERN LOUISIANA
     WEST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
     EXTREME NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL TEXAS

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 220 PM UNTIL
     900 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2
       INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 75
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 60 MILES EAST
   NORTHEAST OF MONROE LOUISIANA TO 35 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF
   SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   DISCUSSION...STORMS ALONG THE SRN END OF THE COMMA TAIL ASSOCIATED
   WITH AN EWD MOVING MVC OVER ERN OK ARE INTENSIFYING...WITH
   ADDITIONAL CELLS FORMING ALONG RETREATING OUTFLOW BOUNDARY NEAR THE
   AR/LA BORDER.  IN ADDITIONAL...THERE IS A CHANCE NEW CELLS MAY
   DEVELOP OVER EXTREME NERN TX/SWRN AR...WITH ALL ACTIVITY SPREADING
   EWD WITH TIME.  MODERATE INSTABILITY WITH MLCAPE TO 2000 J/KG
   COUPLED WITH UNIDIRECTIONAL FLOW ALOFT 30-40 KT IN THE MID-LEVELS
   PER KSHV VWP WILL PROMOTE SEVERE STORM POTENTIAL WITH PRIMARY
   THREATS FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  A BRIEF TORNADO OR TWO
   MAY ALSO OCCUR NEAR THE OUTFLOW BOUNDARY.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 550. MEAN STORM
   MOTION VECTOR 26025.
