   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 267
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   1140 AM CDT MON JUN 9 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     SOUTHERN AND EASTERN ARKANSAS
     NORTHERN LOUISIANA
     NORTHERN AND WEST-CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

   * EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1140 AM UNTIL
     700 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES WEST
   SOUTHWEST OF EL DORADO ARKANSAS TO 15 MILES EAST OF GREENWOOD
   MISSISSIPPI.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   DISCUSSION...AN EAST-NORTHEASTWARD MOVING SQUALL LINE IS EXPECTED TO
   INTENSIFY THIS AFTERNOON...WITH OTHER SEMI-DISCRETE STORMS/BRIEF
   SUPERCELLS POSSIBLE AHEAD OF IT. THESE STORMS WILL BE SEMI-FOCUSED
   ALONG A RESIDUAL /BUT MODIFYING/ WEST-EAST OUTFLOW BOUNDARY AND
   ALONG A NORTHWARD-MOVING SYNOPTIC WARM FRONT. PRE-SQUALL LINE
   HEATING AND MODERATE INSTABILITY WILL CONTRIBUTE TO A PRIMARY
   POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WINDS.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 1.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500. MEAN STORM
   MOTION VECTOR 25035.
