   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 272
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   720 PM CDT SUN JUN 7 2015

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     EASTERN KANSAS
     WESTERN AND NORTH-CENTRAL MISSOURI

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING FROM 720 PM
     UNTIL 300 AM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2.5
       INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...ISOLATED PAIR OF SUPERCELLS HAS FORMED NEAR SALINA AND MAY
   CONTINUE TO POSE A HAZARD FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING GUSTS AS THEY
   SHIFT SOUTHEASTWARD DURING THE NEXT 3-4 HOURS.  GIVEN THE FAVORABLE
   NEAR-TERM ENVIRONMENT SAMPLED BY THE EVENING TOPEKA
   SOUNDING...CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS MAY
   FILL IN BETWEEN THE COMPLEX OVER NORTHEASTERN MISSOURI AND THOSE
   ISOLATED STORMS NEAR SALINA...ALSO OFFERING AN HAIL AND WIND HAZARD
   THIS EVENING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE KANSAS/MISSOURI LINE.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 50
   STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 65 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
   MANHATTAN KANSAS TO 75 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF CHILLICOTHE
   MISSOURI.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
