   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 273
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   520 PM CDT SUN JUN 19 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     WEST CENTRAL INTO NORTHEAST MINNESOTA
     EXTREME NORTHWEST WISCONSIN
     LAKE SUPERIOR

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 520 PM UNTIL
     1100 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2.5
       INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP THE NEXT FEW HOURS ALONG AND
   JUST AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS MINNESOTA. 
   THE STORM ENVIRONMENT WILL INITIALLY FAVOR SEMI-DISCRETE SUPERCELLS
   CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.  A TORNADO
   OR TWO WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER
   STORM DEVELOPMENT.  LATER THIS EVENING...STORMS WILL SPREAD TO THE
   SOUTHEAST AND GRADUALLY MERGE INTO LINE SEGMENTS...WITH A CONTINUED
   WIND/HAIL RISK.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 70
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTH
   NORTHEAST OF SILVER BAY MINNESOTA TO 55 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
   ALEXANDRIA MINNESOTA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   TO 2.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60

   MOTION VECTOR 27035.
