   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 333
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   155 AM CDT WED JUL 6 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     SOUTHEASTERN IOWA
     NORTHERN AND CENTRAL ILLINOIS
     NORTHWESTERN INDIANA
     LAKE MICHIGAN

   * EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 155 AM UNTIL 900 AM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT GUSTS TO 75
       MPH POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...TWO INITIALLY SEPARATE COMPLEXES OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
   WILL CONTINUE TO MERGE...WITH THE RESULTING STORMS MOVING GENERALLY
   SOUTHEASTWARD INTO AND ACROSS THE WATCH AREA.  DAMAGING GUSTS REMAIN
   THE MAIN SEVERE-WEATHER CONCERN THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE
   PRE-DAWN HOURS.  SEE SPC MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1159 FOR INITIAL
   METEOROLOGICAL DETAILS.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 65
   STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
   BURLINGTON IOWA TO 65 MILES EAST OF MARSEILLES ILLINOIS.  FOR A

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
