   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 354
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   455 PM CDT THU JUN 25 2015

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
     SOUTHERN INDIANA
     WESTERN AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY
     EAST-CENTRAL MISSOURI

   * EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON FROM 455 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT
     CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2
       INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE WITHIN AN
   INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE AIR MASS TO THE SOUTH OF AN EFFECTIVE FRONTAL
   ZONE ACROSS THE REGION. MODERATE VERTICAL SHEAR WILL SUPPORT
   ORGANIZED SOUTHEASTWARD-MOVING STORMS WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND SEVERE
   HAIL EXPECTED TO BE THE MAIN HAZARDS.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 45
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES NORTH OF
   JEFFERSON CITY MISSOURI TO 15 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF LOUISVILLE
   KENTUCKY.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
