   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 360
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   1250 PM MDT FRI JUN 27 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     EASTERN COLORADO
     NEBRASKA PANHANDLE
     SOUTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL WYOMING

   * EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 1250 PM UNTIL
     700 PM MDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2
       INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES WEST
   NORTHWEST OF CHADRON NEBRASKA TO 85 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF
   BURLINGTON COLORADO.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   DISCUSSION...STORMS ARE GRADUALLY INCREASING FROM SERN WY INTO THE
   CO FRONT RANGE AND HIGH PLAINS...IN ADVANCE OF A SHORT WAVE TROUGH
   MOVING EWD ACROSS THE ROCKIES.  THE AIR MASS OVER SERN WY/ERN CO IS
   MOIST AND UNSTABLE WITH CAPE OF 1000-2000 J/KG.  SUFFICIENT VERTICAL
   SHEAR OF 30-40 KT IN THE LOWEST 6 KM WITH PROMOTE ORGANIZED STORM
   STRUCTURES INCLUDING A FEW SUPERCELLS DURING THE INITIAL STORM
   DEVELOPMENT PERIOD.  ACTIVITY MAY GROW UPSCALE INTO SEVERAL LINEAR
   SYSTEMS LATER THIS AFTERNOON.  LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS AND A
   BRIEF TORNADO OR TWO WILL BE POSSIBLE.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 550. MEAN STORM
   MOTION VECTOR 26025.
