   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     CENTRAL AND EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA
     NORTH-CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SUNDAY MORNING FROM 540
     PM UNTIL 100 AM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2
       INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND
   INTENSITY THROUGH AT LEAST EARLY-MID EVENING AND SPREAD EASTWARD TO
   SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE WATCH AREA...OFFERING DAMAGING GUSTS AND
   LARGE HAIL.  SEE SPC MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1369 FOR INITIAL
   METEOROLOGICAL DETAILS.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 90
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES NORTH
   NORTHEAST OF MINOT NORTH DAKOTA TO 50 MILES SOUTH OF ABERDEEN
   SOUTH DAKOTA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
