   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 417
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   605 PM CDT TUE JUL 26 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA
     SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY EVENING FROM 605 PM UNTIL 1100 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...CLUSTERS OF STORMS HAVE FORMED ALONG A RESIDUAL BOUNDARY
   ACROSS SOUTHERN SOUTH DAKOTA...IN AN ENVIRONMENT SUPPORTIVE OF
   ORGANIZED MULTICELL CLUSTERS AND SOME SUPERCELL STRUCTURES.  OTHER
   MORE ISOLATED STORMS MAY ALSO SPREAD SOUTHEASTWARD FROM THE BLACK
   HILLS INTO SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA.  THE SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA
   STORMS COULD COALESCE AND GROW UPSCALE INTO A LARGER CLUSTER THIS
   EVENING WHILE SPREADING INTO NORTHERN NEBRASKA.  DAMAGING WINDS AND
   LARGE HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 110 MILES WEST OF
   VALENTINE NEBRASKA TO 55 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF CHAMBERLAIN
   SOUTH DAKOTA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60

   MOTION VECTOR 32020.
