   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 422
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   625 PM EDT MON JUL 14 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     EASTERN INDIANA
     WESTERN AND CENTRAL OHIO

   * EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY EVENING FROM 625 PM UNTIL 1100 PM EDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 50
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES WEST OF
   CINCINNATI OHIO TO 60 MILES NORTHEAST OF DAYTON OHIO.  FOR A
   COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE ASSOCIATED WATCH OUTLINE
   UPDATE (WOUS64 KWNS WOU2).

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   IS SOMEWHAT LESS UNSTABLE THAN WAS THE ENVIRONMENT OVER IND EARLIER
   TODAY...STORM DEVELOPMENT WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROMOTED BY 40 KT DEEP
   WLY FLOW IN WAKE OF CONVECTIVE SYSTEM /SAMPLED BY INDIANAPOLIS
   VWP/...AND BY LARGE-SCALE ASCENT DOWNSTREAM FROM UPR IMPULSE NOW
   OVER NRN IL. A CONDITIONAL RISK WILL EXIST FOR OCCASIONAL LOCALLY
   DMGG GUSTS.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 1 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.
