   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   745 PM CDT SAT JUL 30 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT FROM 745 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER
       POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...A PAIR OF SUPERCELLS THAT DEVELOPED QUICKLY ALONG A
   NORTH-NORTHWEST/SOUTH-SOUTHEAST-ORIENTED BOUNDARY OVER NORTHERN
   SOUTH DAKOTA SHOULD LAST LONG ENOUGH TO POSE A CONTINUING SEVERE
   WIND/HAIL RISK TO NEAR THE PIERRE AREA AND PERHAPS FARTHER SOUTH.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 35
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES WEST OF
   CHAMBERLAIN SOUTH DAKOTA TO 55 MILES NORTH OF PIERRE SOUTH

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
