   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 442
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   245 PM EDT SUN JUL 19 2015

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     WESTERN...CENTRAL...AND NORTHERN MASSACHUSETTS
     FAR WESTERN MAINE
     NEW HAMPSHIRE
     EASTERN NEW YORK
     VERMONT

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 245 PM UNTIL
     1100 PM EDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS LIKELY WITH ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT GUSTS
       TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED TO FORM ACROSS WATCH AREA
   THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING...WITH ADDITIONAL
   STORMS MOVING INTO THE WATCH FROM CENTRAL NY AND SOUTHERN ONTARIO.
   SOME OF THE STORMS COULD BECOME SUPERCELLS AND BOW ECHOES WITH A
   RISK FOR DAMAGING WIND...SOME HAIL...AND POSSIBLY A COUPLE
   TORNADOES.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 100
   STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 75 MILES WEST OF
   GLENS FALLS NEW YORK TO 35 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF MOUNT
   WASHINGTON NEW HAMPSHIRE.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
