   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 442
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   800 PM CDT WED AUG 10 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     PARTS OF WESTERN MINNESOTA
     EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA
     PARTS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING FROM 800 PM
     UNTIL 200 AM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER
       POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   SUMMARY...ONGOING CLUSTERS OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE WW AREA WILL
   CONTINUE -- WITH AN EXPANSION OF COVERAGE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT FEW
   HOURS.  ALONG WITH RISK FOR LOCALLY DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL WILL
   BE POSSIBLE THROUGH MUCH IF NOT ALL OF THE EVENING HOURS.

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 85
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES WEST
   NORTHWEST OF THIEF RIVER FALLS MINNESOTA TO 25 MILES WEST OF
   HURON SOUTH DAKOTA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
