   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 443
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   640 PM EDT SAT JUL 26 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     SOUTHEASTERN ILLINOIS
     CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN INDIANA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING FROM 640 PM
     UNTIL 200 AM EDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WINDS LIKELY WITH ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT GUSTS
       TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 90
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 75 MILES EAST
   SOUTHEAST OF MOUNT VERNON ILLINOIS TO 40 MILES NORTH OF
   INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   DISCUSSION...PREVIOUSLY ELEVATED CONVECTION AHEAD OF LONG-LIVED MCV
   HAS BECOME SFC-BASED OVER SRN IL...AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY
   WHILE EXPANDING LATERALLY AND MOVING INTO FAVORABLY MOIST/UNSTABLE
   AIR MASS INVOF OH VALLEY AND CENTRAL/SRN INDIANA.  NET RESULT WILL
   BE SVR MCS WITH DAMAGING WIND BEING MAIN THREAT...SVR HAIL ALSO
   POSSIBLE.  A TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT EITHER FROM ANY EMBEDDED
   SUPERCELL OR QLCS MESOVORTEX.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 65
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 600. MEAN STORM
   MOTION VECTOR 28035.
