   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   100 PM EDT SUN JUL 27 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     CENTRAL AND EASTERN KENTUCKY
     EAST TENNESSEE
     EXTREME SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 100 PM UNTIL
     800 PM EDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     A FEW TORNADOES POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL LIKELY WITH ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS
       TO 2.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 70 STATUTE
   MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 70 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF
   LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY TO 40 MILES NORTHEAST OF BRISTOL TENNESSEE.

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
   TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

   DISCUSSION...INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST ACROSS
   THE WATCH AREA THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...IN VICINITY OF A REMNANT
   OUTFLOW BOUNDARY.  INCREASING INSTABILITY AND FAVORABLE SHEAR
   PROFILES WILL PROMOTE THE RISK OF SUPERCELLS CAPABLE OF VERY LARGE
   HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND ISOLATED TORNADOES.

   AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
   SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
