   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   145 PM EDT SUN JUL 27 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     EAST CENTRAL INDIANA
     NORTHEAST KENTUCKY
     EXTREME WESTERN MARYLAND
     OHIO
     WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA
     NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA
     LAKE ERIE

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 145 PM UNTIL
     900 PM EDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     A COUPLE TORNADOES POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED LARGE HAIL LIKELY WITH ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS
       TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH LIKELY

   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 100 STATUTE
   MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES NORTHWEST OF DAYTON
   OHIO TO 15 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF LATROBE PENNSYLVANIA.  FOR A

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
   TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

   DISCUSSION...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY
   ACROSS MUCH OF OH THIS AFTERNOON AND SPREAD EASTWARD ACROSS THE
   WATCH.  STRONG INSTABILITY AND FAVORABLE SHEAR WILL PROMOTE
   SUPERCELL STORMS CAPABLE OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.  ISOLATED
   TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE STRONGEST CELLS.

   AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
   SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
   WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
   500. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 28030.
