   TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 539
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   225 PM CDT MON OCT 13 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     CENTRAL AND EASTERN ILLINOIS

   * EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 225 PM UNTIL
     1000 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     A COUPLE TORNADOES POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55 STATUTE
   MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF
   BLOOMINGTON ILLINOIS TO 50 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF MATTOON
   ILLINOIS.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

   TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

   CONDITIONAL RISK FOR SHORT-LIVED TORNADOES FROM SHOWERS/WEAK
   TSTMS...DESPITE FEEBLE LOW TO MID-LVL LAPSE RATES. SUPPORT FOR
   DEVELOPMENT ALSO WILL BE ENHANCED BY INCREASING ASCENT WITH THE
   CONTINUED EWD MOTION OF SRN PLNS UPR TROUGH.

   AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
   SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 0.5 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
   WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
   300. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 20040.
