   SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 547
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   1145 AM EDT TUE OCT 14 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     NORTHERN FLORIDA
     SOUTHERN GEORGIA
     COASTAL WATERS

   * EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1145 AM UNTIL
     700 PM EDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
     A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE

   THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60
   STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 45 MILES NORTH
   NORTHWEST OF WAYCROSS GEORGIA TO 65 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF
   CROSS CITY FLORIDA.  FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
   FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
   DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

   THROUGH THE AFTN. SFC HEATING AND CONTINUED LOW-LVL MOIST INFLOW /PW
   AROUND 2 INCHES/ MAY YIELD A MODEST INTENSIFICATION OF EMBEDDED
   STORMS. GIVEN 35-40 KT SSWLY DEEP SHEAR AND POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL
   STORMS TO FORM ALONG CONFLUENCE AXIS AHEAD OF SQLN...POTENTIAL WILL
   EXIST FOR SCTD INSTANCES OF DMGG WIND...AND POSSIBLY A TORNADO OR
   TWO.

   AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
   TO 0.5 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
   KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500. MEAN STORM
   MOTION VECTOR 23035.
