   TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 551
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   950 PM CST SUN NOV 16 2014

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     FAR SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
     SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA
     SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
     COASTAL WATERS

   * EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING FROM 950 PM
     UNTIL 500 AM CST.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     A COUPLE TORNADOES POSSIBLE
     ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 65 STATUTE
   MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF
   HOUMA LOUISIANA TO 75 MILES NORTH OF GULFPORT MISSISSIPPI.  FOR A

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
   TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

   DISCUSSION...A BROKEN BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH EMBEDDED SUPERCELL
   AND BOWING STRUCTURES IS EXPECTED TO PROGRESS EWD ACROSS THE WATCH
   AREA OVERNIGHT AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT SWEEPING EASTWARD THROUGH THE
   LOWER MS VALLEY. A COUPLE OF TORNADOES AND ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND
   GUSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.

   AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
   SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 0.5 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
   WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
   450. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 24030.
