MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0395
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0743 PM CDT SUN APR 07 2013
AREAS AFFECTED...CENTRAL KS
CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 84...
VALID 080043Z - 080145Z
THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 84
CONTINUES.
SUMMARY...SEVERE THREAT CONTINUES ACROSS WW...ESPECIALLY THE NERN
QUADRANT.
DISCUSSION...DRYLINE IS HOLDING ACROSS WRN PARTS OF WW84 AND IS
ACTUALLY RETREATING SLIGHTLY NEAR DDC. IN THE WAKE OF EARLIER
DRYLINE CONVECTION...THAT HAS NOW PROGRESSED INTO NERN PARTS OF THE
WATCH...TSTMS ARE VOID. LATEST VIS IMAGERY DEPICTS AN AGITATED AREA
OF HIGH BASED CONVECTION WEST OF THE DRYLINE OVER SWRN KS. THIS
ACTIVITY WILL SPREAD EAST OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS AND COULD LEAD TO
RENEWED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT NEAR THE MOIST BOUNDARY LAYER.
EVEN SO THE PROBABILITY OF THIS NEW DEVELOPMENT IS LOW AND GREATEST
RISK OF SEVERE HAIL/DAMAGING WINDS IS EXPECTED TO BE FOCUSED ACROSS
NERN PARTS OF WW.
