   Mesoscale Discussion 0790
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0306 PM CDT Sat May 25 2019

Areas affected...Portions of Texas/Oklahoma Panhandles into far
   southwest Kansas and western Oklahoma

   Concerning...Severe potential...Tornado Watch likely

   Valid 252006Z - 252200Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...80 percent

SUMMARY...Storms will continue to move northeastward in the Texas
Panhandle with some development ahead of these storms in the coming
hours. Tornado threat will increase into the evening across the area
   outlined.

DISCUSSION...Strong to severe storms continue to move
northeast/develop in the Texas Panhandle. With MLCAPE of 2500-3000
J/kg and effective bulk shear of 40-50 knots, the severe threat will
continue with large hail and damaging winds. Additionally, low-level
shear and hodograph curvature increases east of WW238 and the LLJ
will strengthen this evening leading to an increased tornado threat.
Storms with unperturbed inflow and maintaining relatively discrete
supercell structure are likely, although upscale growth will
eventually occur this evening. A tornado watch issuance is likely
   soon.
