   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 14...

   The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 14
   continues.

   SUMMARY...Localized damaging wind threat continues with weakening
   line of convection. Downstream watch issuance is not currently
   anticipated.

   DISCUSSION...At 1730Z, a weakening line of convection is moving
   eastward across KY and southwest OH. Instability is negligible
   across this area, resulting in a loss of lightning activity over the
   past hour with the line. Strong wind fields remain in place
   downstream of ongoing convection, with non-thunderstorm wind gusts
   in the 40-55 mph range noted across areas where some boundary-layer
   heating/mixing has occurred. While a general slow weakening trend is
   expected to continue, some potential for damaging wind gusts will
   remain with any stronger convective elements, given the strong
   background wind field and steepening low-level lapse rates. 

   Some potential for damaging gusts will likely spread east of WW 14
   with the next 1-2 hours. Downstream watch issuance is not currently
   expected given the weakening trends noted above, but local watch
   extension is a possibility to cover any short-term threats.
