   Mesoscale Discussion 0246
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0740 AM CDT Sat Mar 28 2020

   Areas affected...Central TX

   Concerning...Severe potential...Watch unlikely

   Valid 281240Z - 281445Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...20 percent

SUMMARY...Isolated hail and/or damaging wind gusts are possible
across central TX for the next few hours.

DISCUSSION...Thunderstorms have developed over the past hour along a
cold front extending across western portions of central TX. Storms
thus far have exhibited pulse-like characteristics with updrafts
developing rapidly before quickly losing intensity as the front
continues eastward, while the storms move more northeasterly. Given
the predominantly front-parallel orientation of the deep-layer shear
vector, this overall trend is expected to continue. Storms may
briefly obtain enough intensity to produce minimally severe hail
before losing strength. Precipitation loading coupled with the
moderately strong mid-level flow will also result in the potential
for damaging wind gusts. Limited storm persistence and the
expectation of mostly sub-severe hail and/or wind will preclude the
   need for a watch.
