   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 97...

   The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 97
   continues.

   SUMMARY...A damaging wind and hail threat may extend east of WW 97.

   DISCUSSION...A large cluster of storms just north of the Houston
   area continues to propagate east/southeast in a very unstable air
   mass with strong deep-layer shear. This cluster will continue to
   pose a damaging wind threat, possibly extending to the coast.

   To the east of the primary MCS, other cells were rapidly developing
   along the east-west boundary into LA. Given cellular storm mode, the
   long hodographs and ample instability will favor large hail, with
   any wind threat depending on whether storms can congeal.
