   Mesoscale Discussion 0332
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0652 PM CDT Fri Apr 10 2020

   Areas affected...southwest Texas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 99...

   Valid 102352Z - 110145Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 99
   continues.

SUMMARY...Storms capable of hail remain the primary severe concern
this evening. Southwestern areas of the watch may be able to be
   cleared prior to watch expiration.

DISCUSSION...A cluster of cells currently exist over northern
portions of watch #99, with left splits gradually moving north
across I-20. The cells are aided by long, straight hodographs, steep
lapse rates, and sufficient moisture with an influx of 50s F
   dewpoints out of the southeast.

As peak heating passes, there is unlikely to be any additional
forcing mechanism for additional storms, other than outflows of
existing cells. Visible satellite imagery shows decreasing CU fields
over southern and western parts of the watch over the past few
hours. Otherwise, existing cells will likely last an hour or two
longer prior to capping increasing this evening.
